Alameda Superior Court Judge Manuel Grillo set July 22, 2014 for a Case Management Conference in the challenge by California Coastkeeper Alliance to the Industrial General Permit for Stormwater Industrial Activities (IGP).  The California State Water Resources Control Board adopted the IGP on April 1, 2014.  On May 8, 2014, CCK filed a petition for writ of mandamus in Alameda Superior Court asking that the court require the State Water Board to reopen on two grounds: (1) that Monitoring Requirements more adequately provide account for stormwater discharges that "cause or contribute to an exceedance of a water quality standard" and/or (2) that the IGP adequately incorporate total maximum daily loads (TMDLs) into effluent limitations.
